BA is quite a long way south of the equator and the weather isn't too unpleasant, probably more like northern NSW or south eastern Queensland (sub-tropical), than Cairns (tropical) or Singapore (equatorial)
Winner, the buenos aires zoo polar bear died during the final days of december in 2012. His enclousure was rather substandard and not adequate. Let us hope that the days of polar bears in south american animal collections are ending and that no more polar bears will be given away as diplomatic gifts in the future.
