A fine idea for those of us who like gardening.A great way to combine the zoo interest with doing something to help our local fauna, and can be as small or as ambitious as necessary to suit each budget.
The London Wetland Centre actually focusses on native wildlife: there is a huge series of lakes in the centre which are off-limits, but hides and observation towers are available for birdwatching and photography. There is a series of enclosures for waterfowl from around the world, as well as areas set aside for amphibians, voles, sand martins, bats and other native wildlife;there are also areas which are designed to educate, such as wildlife gardens and these ponds, which seem designed for school visits more than anything else.
