@Kakapo Notice the hole in the Stegosaurus' neck (possible hail/storm damage or vandalism?). Also, they look like their original colors have faded and they had streaks of moss and dirt on them. So it didn't look to me they are being well maintained.
Oh! I tought it was one of the plates instead of a hole. Well, probably are faded (impossible to avoid the direct sunlight....), but you don't know if this is how real stegosaurs or ceratopsians were in life (not with moss growing on them, but maybe a green stain of algae and dirt is very plausible)
@Kakapo I still think I'm right in saying that the dinosaurs obviously show some weathering due to having been outside in the fickle Dutch weather, possibly for years and are not in their peak condition, aesthetically speaking.
I do concede your point that we do not know - and to a large extent cannot know - what dinosaurs really looked like, and that they probably didn't look crisp and clean.
However, maybe calling them decrepit or derelict was maybe a bit strong on my part. Do you think I could change those titles?
You could change the titles, but you don't must/should They're decrepit (in the sense of "non-mantained"), you explained why, and it's just a thruth. I see no reason for change titles, but of course you can do if you want, just because they're your own photos.
