This is a bit grim, isn't it? I'm actually surprised that the gibbons weren't in their indoor area. Is this one exhibit or is the enclosure able to be divided (or is divided) in the middle?
While it looks bad, I don’t think it looks too bad. It’s definitely on the small side but from the photo it appears that the Gibbons at least have a few climbing frames. I’m shocked that they were outside though!
There was no indoor viewing here for gibbons, only for chimps and a second group of Black-eared Marmosets. This wasn't the main gibbon enclosure; there is an island as well, with indoor viewing, but the animals in that were indeed shut in due to the snow.
This would probably not look quite so bad without the snow-induced gloom!
