Puluh

I know there are hundreds of photographs of the animals at Chester already, however I wanted to share some of my good ones from today and would be grateful for any feedback :).

Great photo. Magnificent dreadlocks!

Cheers, this one seems a little blurrier here than in my photo folder, unless I've uploaded the wrong one (I've waited about 3 years to get a good Sumatran Orang pic, so took about 20-30 pics). Ahh well, he is a mighty fine creature :D

Lucky you, I was disappointed not to see him on Friday. This really shows off his magnificent hair!

It certainly is magnificant (and even better as it waved in the breeze and looked quite dramatic). Is Pulah the breeding Sumatran male? Can you give me some info about the Orangs at Chester (ISIS for both species, names, ages, which ones are breeders etc). Thanks in advance :)

Well I'm no expert and don't even know what you mean by ISIS for both species but I believe Puluh (Sumatran) is father of 6, Subis and Emma each have 3 offspring with Puluh but I don't know which of the older 4 belong to which mum. They are a female no longer at Chester and Padang (m), Budi (m), Utara (f), Indah (f with Emma) and Kirana (f with Subis).

Tuan (Bornean) is the father of Iznee (m with Sarikei) and Latifah (f with Leia) and Martha is the mother of Sarikei and Leia.

Puluh lives with his family and can be seen playing with the kids.

Tuan lives separately from the others. He also eats soil when allowed outside and has to let it pass through before he goes out again.

Martha: Mother to Sakari

Ahhh cool, by ISIS for both species I meant how many males and females for both Borneans and Sumatrans. ie: 1.6 would be one male and 6 females.

Thanks for the info, that is what I was after anway :)

And thanks aswel to Nisha :)

You know ISIS is a public website? You can just look up the current listings. :)
