First time I have seen a road sign to watch out for wild pumas. On the road in Grand Canyon National Park, a few miles east of the village. (I had never gone this far east before).

I was amazed as well, as I saw the same signs in Florida on the way from Naples to Miami. New signs or wasn't I aware enough the last years during my USA-Trips?
In Florida, I know road kill has been a problem for a long time with the endangered Florida Panther, so that does not surprise me at all. Seeing one out west, though, did surprise me.
Followup: In the large book store at the main Visitor's Center, there is a taxidermied juvenile puma in a case and the sign says it was killed by a speeding motorist.
