Purple-faced Langur (Trachypithecus vetulus vetulus)

There are four subspecies of the Purple-faced Langur, an endemic species of Sri Lanka. I saw all four while I was there but did not manage to get any photos of the critically-endangered Western Purple-faced Langur T. v. nestor.

The subspecies in this photo is the Wet-zone Purple-faced Langur T. v. vetulus, taken at Sinharaja. I saw these quite frequently but they proved difficult to actually take photos of.
