This is such an incredible species & beautifully captured! Are there any Purple Herons in North American collections? If not, America & Canada are missing out!

@Sarus Crane Thank you for your comment. I don't know about the presence of this species in North American collections or where to research that. I did check for photos of the species in the gallery and as far as I could see all were from European collections or the wild. Perhaps someone on ZooChat knows more. This species isn't common in European collections either by the way, with only 9 holders across different subspecies according to Zootierliste.
