Purple-throated Fruitcrow (Querula purpurata) at Zoo Berlin - 6th April 201

Although not quite as rare in European captive collections as some cotingas, and nowhere near as gaudy in colouration when compared to taxa such as the Spangled Cotinga or the Andean Cock-of-the-Rock, I would still argue that this taxon is one of the real highlights not merely of the Fasanerie, but of Zoo Berlin as a whole.

I am particularly pleased with how the plumage turned out on these photographs.
