Really rare vargant that stayed for a few months in the Netherlands
Do you have Pygmy cormorant influx in Netherlands too? We had hundreds of them this autumn here in CZ.

We still have some now who stayed back, like 4 individuals who settled at pelican pond in Zoopark Chomutov FB or circa 100 individuals that spend nights at island in Nové Mlýny dam link.

However, there is a problem of their mass killings. Great cormorants are seen legally as pest and can be shot in unlimited numbers (5000-10000 are shot anually). Unfortunatelly, most hunters and fish farmers don´t know pygmy cormorants even exist so they kill them because they mistake them for normal cormorants. Local animal rescue stations got several flightless individuals, whose wing got fataly shot and diasabled, this year. It is just sad.
