What an amazing variety of species! Azores is very high on my list of places to go. How many days did you do whale watching? Also, all pictures are from "normal" trips, I mean the typical few hours excursion, or did you managed something more intensive?

@Merintia We did 10 trips of whale watching over 5 days (2 per day) and each trip was about 3 hours. We had a specialized group of 12 people that rented out a private boat with the Espaço Talassa company: Whale Watching In The Azores - Espaço Talassa Pico Island Study Base It came out to €52 per person per trip instead of the usual €75 price per public trip (can sometimes be €65 as a group rate)

Our group spent less time with Sperm Whales and targeted rarer species like beaked whales and Kogia.

Check out the stats page for this company: Statistics - Espaço Talassa We were there July 20-24- and you'll notice an uptick in the rarer stuff :D
