In a zoo that was overall far better than I expected this lush exhibit was deeply frustrating. Visitor feeding is such a common problem in Chinese zoos but this enclosure practically begs for it. You can't see so well from this photo but most of the raccoons are very obese.
And there is a more frustrating fact about this exhibit: it is said that the lush enclosure was planned to exhibit large Indian civet, but the raccoons were more loved by tourists
That is frustrating, although I wonder how much civets would have shown. Really I think whatever is in here should be something that won't eat food thrown to it .
