Nah, it's dead easy. They're well habituated to people and generally very noisy. Many sit next to the path, sometimes on the path. All the other photos I took that accompany this image in the gallery - the silvereyes and it's nest, the Victoria's Riflebird, the Emerald Dove, The King Parrot, the Whipbird and the Purple-crowned Fruit Pigeon - all were taken either within a few feet of the path or over the path. The image above has the Fruit Pigeon on the branch at the top of the shot.
