Inhabitant finally on view at the third time of asking! The other half of the exhibit is densely planted and even in winter it is not possible to see the back of the exhibit.

And I think Howletts had the worlds first captive breeding of this species.
 
I only saw one. And there appears to be a small wooden-box-type house at the far front left of the exhibit (so far to the left as to be out of sight of the normal eye-lines).
 
it is a bit of a pit for this species. I know they can be vicious but is this really necessary in a modern UK zoo? Forget historic exhibits and all that, just revamp it!

Also did they ever breed in any other UK zoo?

Why revamp it if it works?
 
concrete shouldnt be what an animal has to look at day in day out. Nice vegetation, just loose the concrete!
 
Like I said it's not a pit... Either way, whatever lol.
