Various extinct NZ species which are known only from subfossil skeletal remains, having been rendered extinct between the arrival of the original Maori colonists c.1000 years ago and European arrival a couple of hundred years ago. There is also a taxidermy Kakapo in there as well. The extinct species reconstructed here are South Island Adzebill (top left), North Island Goose (top right), Stout-legged Moa (adults and chick), Hawkins' Rail (bottom left), and Finsch's Duck (bottom right).
