Red-winged starling

The pair of red-winged starlings like the corrugated iron roof of the visitor's shelter in the Tsavo Aviary. I often eat my packed lunch in this shelter, but I have never been subjected to such close scrutiny from the birds before.

You must have been eating mealworms then.

I ate my lunch at the coffee cafe by the jags that day - and I have witnesses that no mealworms, or alternative insects, were involved in the production of this picture

I hope this is not a case of discrimination to invertebrates. After all they are the backbone of the ecosystem.
