Reed Bunting (Emberiza schoeniclus) at Gosforth Park Nature Reserve - 21 Ma

This photograph was taken at a private nature reserve north of Newcastle which I have access to as a member of NHSN (Natural History Society of Northumbria). The reserve contains extensive woodland as well as large areas of wetland and a small shallow lake which attracts many species, including Bittern, Eurasian Otter and Red Squirrel.

Nice pictureof a species which is quite common in the Netherlands - I've also already made good pictures of them. How is the sithuation in the UK, are they common there also ?

They are reasonably numerous, being found everywhere but the northernmost portion of Scotland, but are tricky to photograph due to their preferred habitat and shy nature.
