In my recent posting of America's top 10 zoos with reptiles/amphibians there were 8 out of 10 that could be regarded as "southern". The only 2 on the list that are regarded as "northern" zoos are Detroit and Saint Louis, and there are many great reptile collections in the lower half of the United States.
