Just my unnecessary pedantry - in Britain we just call Corvus monedula 'jackdaw' because there's only one native species, but it's not the full and correct species common name, because there are other species (Daurian Jackdaw springs to mind). So, for the benefit of our international friends and my own personal pickiness, I have used the full common name.
Ah ok I was wondering if there was a northern and southern jackdaw in the UK like carrion crows in the south and hooded in Scotland. Thanks for clearing that up
