Reticulated Pythons (Python reticulatus)

two huge pythons, originally captured in Singapore and each about 6.5 metres long -- for a sense of scale, the sign beside the case is about 1.4 metres high. The snakes have been at the museum since 1905 and prior to that were doing the rounds with the Fitzgerald Brothers Circus (although the sign did not say whether they were alive at the circus or already stuffed).
