I was investigating elasmobranch taxonomy, and I now realize that this is not Pseudobatos (formerly Rhinobatos) productus, but rather Glaucostegus typus, which both have "shovelnose" in their common name (shovelnose guitarfish and common/giant shovelnose ray, respectively), which was the reason behind my mix-up.
