All three regions of Wildlands have their own story and their own mascots, though all mascots are in different forms.
Momma Dunia, who is presented through murals, is the mascot of Serenga.
Olaf Vladimir, who can be seen in the 4D-movie "Arctic1", is the mascot of Nortica.
And finally, Jungle Jim is the mascot of Jungola, and can be seen in one of his shows.
All regions and people have their own story (feel free to comment if you want to know more about the others), but Jungle Jim is the most fleshed out.
Jim was an explorer following myths and rumors of a giant monster bird in the rainforests of Rimbula. When his plane crashed he was forced to survive in the rainforest with nothing but his skills and the remnants of his plane. He continued researching and logging all his findings in "Jim's Journal", which is the theme of all the signage in Jungola.
During the show he tells about some of the animals in Jungola and about survival in the rainforest.
You can see multiple sites throughout Rimbula where Jim did research or building. Including a water filtration system, a journal writing station and multiple research areas. Almost all the buildings and structures in Rimbula include plane parts and DIY'd ropes and sticks.
In general, all the theming throughout the zoo is amazing and highly detailed
