That is a very interesting question. The river otter exhibit opened in 1967, so that makes it 47 years old and while it has been surpassed many times over due to the prolific number of great otter enclosures in the world it is still a more than adequate habitat. The Riparian Corridor complex (river otter, beaver and bighorn sheep) was constructed between 1967-1971 and yet like many of ASDM's exhibits they have held up well over time.
