River's Edge - Asian Elephant Exhibit (1 of 4 Enclosures)

Aug. 9th, 2014.
The enclosures look nice, but it is hard to gauge how big they are. The River's Edge exhibit do well with controlling sight lines (except in the African Wild Dog exhibit which really looks shoehorned in). Are the elephant exhibits large or just really well designed (or both)?

I'd actually be very curious to know the exact size of the Saint Louis elephant exhibits, and someone on ZooChat about a year ago analyzed elephant enclosures right across the nation and they might have an answer. It can be misleading, as even if there is approximately 2.5 acres of space spread between 4 habitats it is not as if that means that all the elephants have access to the full 2.5 acres at any given time of the day as the herd can be split into different groups.
