I don't really understand the thought process behind this kind of thing. Why would you pay someone to make that without putting in a few minutes of research first to see what actually fits and is geographically correct? Perhaps it is just me being pedantic but I feel as if it isn't much more work to just google it quickly.
@amur leopard There doesn't seem to be very much thinking about it and the whole Meso-American, generic Aztec / Mayan mix archeological site theme just seems to get typically thrown in exhibits with any species from South America even if these civilizations were actually from North America.
@amur leopard I guess this exhibit has been built to a Central American animal, but they changed species... Btw these things occur often, because Budapest Zoo don't really have a masterplan or something like that, at least I haven't been able to find it up to now.
@HungarianBison I know , I'm just joking but it would be nice to see these in an exhibit with Mexican species.
For example, it would look great and be biogeographically correct with their beaded lizards or a number of their rattlesnake species (particularly given the Quetzalcoatl motif).
