A reason in its own right to visit SeaWorld San Antonio. Do any other US parks have them apart from Waikiki Aquarium and perhaps some other Hawaii parks (Honolulu Zoo too?)
Good to know, I did not realize Waikiki Aquarium has two of them, although it certainly makes sense! The other Hawaiian facilities do not appear to have them according to their websites: Honolulu Zoo, Sea Life Park, and Maui Ocean Center.
Yes, I have photos of them taken back in February (I'll see if I can upload them). If you look at the park map on their website the monk seal habitat is #12.
The Hawaiian Monk Seals were all sent to Minnesota Zoo to reside in the redesigned (and formerly empty) Bottlennose Dolphin exhibit there. SeaWorld San Antonio now has California Sea Lions and Harbour Seals in this exhibit, which was also redesigned. Here is an example of what the pool looks like now:
