RSPB Bempton Cliffs, 8 May 2015. RSPB Bempton Cliffs, have one of the largest seabird colonies in the UK and the largest colony of Gannets not on an island. The cliffs are the most northerly chalk cliffs in the UK.

See these quite often, due to there being a large colony nesting under the Tyne Bridge.

Thanks, the only way I could get such a close up shot was with the scenery mode, which doesn't quite give the best quality, but otherwise its just a undistinguishable splodge!

If you come to Newcastle in the summer months, go down to the Quayside; they nest on the buildings and walls under the Tyne Bridge, as noted above, and as such you can get within a metre or two of them :) fantastic for photography.

Great photos! I do often go up to Newcastle, as my sister is at university there (and my other sister is going in September), so when I do get up I might just do that (I also want to visit WWT Washington).
 
They are usually gone by mid-August, so hopefully you'll get up there before that.
