I'm not sure what that second bird is - I think it might be a hybrid between Ruddy Shelduck and Mallard. It is the size of a shelduck and has a shelduck look about the body (but not the head and bill), but clearly isn't one. It seemed to be paired up with the Ruddy Shelduck.
