@lisaS This is infact a Male Cape Shelduck (Tadorna cana). Unlike Ruddy shelducks, Cape shelducks have large areas of grey colouration on their heads, with females also possessing a white area around the eyes and base of the beak, whilst the males have an entirely grey head.
