It wasn't really a proper lek, as the other ruff had only just started to grow his plumes and was mooching around on the other side of the pond. This ruff was posing like billyo beside any reeve that wandered near him. The reeves obviously wanted him to try harder. Wader Aviary, Slimbridge, 8th May 2016.
