Running Giraffe Calves

What an interesting variance in colouration from two giraffe calves close in age. Since they share a sire (Forrest), I assume this is inherited from their respective mothers?
 
@Zoofan15 Yes I noticed that too - the variable colouration/patterning of the giraffe species/subspecies mixed in the hybrid population is really starting to show. Even though the females do have notable visual differences, the calves seem to be more distinctive than the rest.
 
@WhistlingKite24 I suppose the proportion of Rothschilds genetics would have an influence here - with there still direct descendants of purebreds (and a handful of purebreds) in the region.
