@Rizz Carlton It's astonishing at how many zoos in Indonesia will have 100+ Javan Rusa Deer and I'd love to get confirmation that the deer are bred as food for the carnivores but I cannot guarantee that is the case. It just seems odd (and maybe a bit reckless) to have so many deer if they are not being raised for food.
@snowleopard it somewhat of a plausible explanation as to why many zoos here are able to maintain a large number of them continously, though there hasn't been no public confirmation as well probably due to fear of public backlash. Haven't found no real report on a large group being released into the wild either.
Worth noting that Taman Safari Bogor had sold "deer satay" in the Rainforest Restaurant a couple of years ago, so I guess that theory aren't far fatched atleast for this park
