I've noticed that salome is often 'based' in that wooden shelter for long periods of time. Which segment she uses depends on the wind direction. if she can't be seen anywhere else she is often around the back.
Jock and Romina are more often indoors- I presume Romina is his favourite female as she's often sitting near him, though I've never had that verified. Whereas Salome seems to avoid him. Yet apparently when they are in oestrus, it is Salome who shows very obvious behaviour, whereas Romina doesn't.
Yes Salome tends to stay out of the way, but Romina was out in the sun in the middle of the island for long periods during my visit - I took lots of portraits
Salome is my favourite Uk gorilla because of her parentage and history. I have known her at all the different stages and locations of her life. So pleased when she finally produced another viable baby after several failures. I'm wondering if they can repeat that success- or not? She certainly isn't too old but her diminished fertility is of course the stumbling block.
