Where all the Sambar at the same stage of antler growth. The Sambar in Australia generally loose their antlers in spring, but there always seems to be some bucks in hard antler and some in velvet who work to a different schedule.

I only remember seeing this one adult male at Hanoi, but the males at Saigon (in an very different climate) were in mostly full hard antler. Checking the photos, however, I found one Saigon animal at the same stage as the Hanoi male - so it looks they're the same as the Australian ones!

EDIT: Just spotted the other male in the photo - unfortunately I didn't notice its antlers and they're obscured in the photo.
