San Diego Zoo - Clouded Leopard Exhibit

August 2008. Another brilliant habitat.

It's a tough call, as they are obviously two brilliant habitats...but my vote would go to San Diego. The density of plants makes it awfully difficult to find the clouded leopard, but it does make for an awesome exhibit.

Except now it holds lesser spot-nosed guenons and thus has no plants anymore.

@Ituri or anyone else who may know: do you know why the clouded leopard was booted from this exhibit and stuck in the tiny cage on the former Elephant Mesa?

I don't think they were the same cats. They housed a pair in here, but the one on Elephurban Mesungle is one of their education animals, and is used in the "Backstage Pass" upcharge experience (basically every exhibit on the mesa is....)

Thanks for the info. That does make more sense, but then I guess the question becomes why did they move the clouded leopards in the above exhibit? Was it not working well as a leopard exhibit? Whatever the reason, it is sad that they are gone.
