The Savannah Aviary was opened in 2016 and is home to a breeding herd of cape buffalo, Abdim's stork, cattle egret, glossy ibis, hadada ibis, trumpeter hornbill, domestic helmeted guineafowl, fulvous whistling duck, white-faced whistling duck and maybe hammerhead. African grey hornbill will be added. They now can be seen in seperation cages. A temporary seperation aviary also houses laughing doves, African olive pigeons and speckled pigeon(s). In 2017, the Savannah will expand with a new enclosure for giraffes and Hartmanns mountain zebras. The ZOO's zebras are staying at sister park Planckendael temporarily.
