Scalloped Hammerhead (Sphyrna lewini) - Farglory Ocean Park

I was surprised that this was not in the gallery.

@Yoshistar888 The keeper said it was smooth, but his English was not good. Actually, on second thought it might just be a scalloped. Another picture I have of it had subtle notches on the cephalofoil. Guess I still have to go to Ibaraki for a real smooth hammerhead to add to the gallery.

Hold up, according to some databases the smooth hammerhead still has a notched cephalofoil. @Yoshistar888 can you do some research on this? Thanks.

@RatioTile I don't know much about shark anatomy but i'll look it up.

EDIT: all the sources I'm looking at say it is meant to be free of notches.

I just sent a message to the aquarium. When I asked on Facebook, people said it's possible for a smooth hammerhead to have deeper notches on its cephalofoil that makes it look like a scalloped.

Ok, I called the aquarium and they said it’s most likely a scalloped. I’m changing the title.
