Scarlet ibis (Eudocimus ruber). A group of there live freely in the Tropics Hall.

- Southern lapwing (Vanellus chilensis)
- Pin-tailed whydah (Vidua macroura)
- European bee-eater (Merops apiaster)
- White-fronted bee-eater (Merops bullockoides)
- Crowned lapwing (Vanellus coronatus)
- Masked lapwing (Vanellus miles)
- Ringed teal (Callonetta leucophrys)
- Green-winged teal (Anas carolinensis)
- Japanese bush warbler (Horornis diphone)
- Emerald dove (Chalcophaps indica)
- Crested pigeon (Ocyphaps lophotes)
- Red-winged starling (Onychognathus morio)
- Zebra finch (Taeniopygia guttata)
I excluded the species that I believe are confined to the 'cockatoo trees' from this list.

Forgot to add one species to the above list. Long-tailed glossy starlings (Lamprotornis caudatus) also fly freely in the Tropics Hall.
