Does this open range zoo still have scimitar-horned oryx, or have they gone the way of many of Australia's other hoofstock? Also, galahs are stunningly beautiful and loud birds.
and mogo zoo has them too and further afield so too does orana, the only zoo in NZ with them.
perth and taronga used to have small herds of them, but perth sent its to monarto and taronga sent theirs to wpz about 18 months ago after a fairly long stint of displaying them, since at least the early 1980s.
oryx were supposed to have been at tipperary; wonder where they ended up?
relatively speaking oryx are newish in this country; i think the first or the nucleus of the current stock came from england in the late 70s/early 80s
