This spit of land joins Scott's Head to the mainland of Dominica (which is what you see in the background). This is at the extreme south of the island; the water on the left of this picture is the Caribbean Sea, the water to the right is the Atlantic Ocean. Even so close to joining, the different characters of the two bodies of water can be clearly seen.
