This is a truly splendid aviary, and I recently visited the aquarium for the second time and was thrilled with what I saw. There are always at least 2-3 docents/volunteers in the walk-through aviary as the viewing windows are barely waist high and even toddlers have no trouble leaning over and dipping their hands into the cold water. There are 4 species of sea birds, two large pools, 30-foot cliffs on either side of the exhibit (this photo only shows a portion of the space), and the aviary is consistently stocked with a total of around 100 birds. As soon as that magic number is passed due to breeding then the extra animals are shipped off to other zoos and aquariums.
