sea gooseberry

June 2018
I saw a fifteen minute movie in the aquarium theater called "Behind the Glass" that talked about the work they do and it included a fascinating segment on this small species. One of their staff scientists was the first to uncover proper husbandry techniques in order to breed them. Also they move differently than other jellyfish. Those tiny little lines along the spine (not sure the proper name) kind of move in waves and that gets it going. The aquarium uses special lighting to make them light up different colors as they move.
