This is the pool that had the Dolphins in many years ago Pool 2 which is just through the gate at the far end is where the whale (Cuddles) was housed it seems a bit small for the dolphins and whale to have enjoyed there time here

Is the back wall hotwired or do the sealions have access along the bank behind this?

looks very shallow!

Having been in there - it is very misleading! Certain parts of the pool is very deep - however this is the shallower of the two pools available to them. Not sure how deep cause im useless at estimating :D queue someone knowing the depth to the nearest mm :D

I think this one is around 8ft at deepest point the other is over 10ft at deepest pointtaken from notes on 23/08/04

You have to remember that the pools were actually deeper than this when they housed the Killer Whale and Dolphins, the top part was removed when they left as I believe they only had temporary planning permission, for the deeper pools!

I knew about the removal of depth after the cetaceans, but it was more for the sea lions. Glad to hear that it is deeper than it looks! I was under the impression that this was their only pool as it seems to be the only one in photos- or are they very similar in design? I presume they connect under the bridge?

EDIT: Just found this on the website: "A pair of symmetrical shaped pools connected under a central bridge which leads into the castle courtyard." Now everything makes sense! Do they have access to both at any one time?

They do have access into both most of the time - the only time they don't is when they are cleaning one of the two pools.
