Well, ZOO Prague, which was pronounced to be the 7the best world's ZOO is building new tank for sea lions and I do not think it will be much bigger than this one. The deepest part will be about 230-250 cm.
But still there are baby sea lions born in Czech zoos, so probably ZOOs know better than us what to do for their animals

Prague Zoo is a good zoo, but as in all other zoos, there are exhibits that could be better-like their pinnipeda pool.
Reproducing is not always an obligatory sign of good husbandry; there are some species that reproduce at worst conditions (lions & the Tower of London) and one should not neglect the possibility of a certain crowding effect combined with hypersexuality (various primates).
BTW: no offence-but what is it with you and the capitalisation of the word 'zoo'? And the constant "awww"? Kind of odd...
Woxys is right, this pool in Liberec is among the best exhibit for "see lions & co." in this country. Unfortunately.
For me personally, the new exhibit for fur seals in Prague is a dissapointment, they had resources and enough space, but the result is/will be a tiny and rather shallow pool. On the other hand, Liberec had really limited budget, they just built the best they could afford to.
But I can still see a positive development despite all the critique. Because I remember Californian see lions living in that small pen inhabited now by ursons (in front of the Indonesian jungle), when I was a child.
@Sun Wukong All three spellings, "ZOO", "Zoo", and "zoo" are/were broadly used in this country. Some years ago (10 or mybe 15?), all Czech zoos agreed to use only "zoo" in all theirs press releases etc., but the other terms still live among the people.
@Jana: "best"-at the most with quotation marks. I agree that the sea lion exhibit at Usti, to name an example, is worse, but that does not justify Woyx's all too positive praise of the exhibit at Liberec-no matter how limited their budget was.
And about "ZOO": why not let history be history in this case-and just write the term 'zoo' like everyone else, regardless of any national quirks?
