That's a great photo. If my memory serves me correctly, this subspecies is the largest of the three, and it no longer exists in captivity. I believe it was only ever kept in a few aquariums in East Asia and Russia in the past.
 
@Veno Yes, I had never seen a Sea Otter before, so every dark thing down on the water I'm checking it out, and they are all ducks and cormorants and things, and then when I saw the first otters it was a "wow those are huge!" moment.

I didn't know if any of the photos would turn out because the water was quite a long way below the cliffs, and there was a snowstorm going on (you can just see the snow showing in the photo), so I couldn't actually tell whether anything was in focus when taking them.
