Seabird recovery aviary

Ecomare is a hybrid Museum/Aquarium/Rescue centre for the North and Wadden sea.

This aviary is next to the bird rescue centre, and includes animals that were either weakened or injured and now recovering. The most interesting thing is that it has both a rocky and a beach area. The beach for gulls, cormorants and gannets, and the rocky area for puffins and murres.

It currently held Northern gannets, Great cormorants, Herring gulls and both Greater and Lesser black-backed gulls.

There is a single cormorant and eleven gannets that are here permanently. They cannot be released and the Gannets are breeding
