Seal Exhibit, Wild Sea - January, 2010

Those chunks of concrete are pretty damn ugly, and this exhibit just opened last month! I'm shocked that Melbourne didn't create a much more naturalistic environments for their pinnipeds, and aesthetically this enclosure is a major disappointment. It already appears to be half a century behind the times.

Based purely on available photos... I would have to give the victory to Taronga with their "Great Southern Oceans"

I haven't seen Melbourne's in person yet (I'm going tomorrow.) but I'm afraid I'll have to agree with you Ituri.

I'm all for artistic exhibits if there done right but this just looks like they're not trying.

IMO the pool does look large and deep but quite issapointingly unnaturalistic for a new exhibit.

Do they do any seal shows or presentations in this pool because there is a target ball up the front?
