How old is this exhibit? The ice is kind of bizarre looking. Also, is that visitor smoking? I'd be surprised if a major Dutch zoo like Ouwehands allowed people to smoke on the grounds.
It indeed is bizarre looking and still a remaining of the old-style zoo. I guess the age at at least 30 years.
In a lot of Dutch zoos smoking is still allowed and in some others special smoking-areas are created.
