Secretary Bird exhibit

June 2009
i think the problem is that all the exhibits look the same., this photo looks just like the lion exhibit that looks just like the jag that looks very similar to the elephants.

they all have the same soil and the same tiny little plant shoots. it seems a bit repetitive to me

I agree with you, just wait till I upload the rest of the photos.

I thought they were all trying to represent an ancient California...If all the exhibits in a savannah theme looked the same no one would complain.

It reminds me of a dog kennel

I wouldn't complain if it looked like a savanna....or ancient California...or anything other than a dog kennel.

I doubt they even attempted any landscape immersion with these exhibits guys, its more like a "discovery zone" that follows the same droll theme over and over and an emphasis on human and animal closeness and interaction. There are always keepers walking about talking to visitors around the enclosures. I was disappointed from the start of them planning this thing with a Pleistocene theme, I think the zoo just wanted a pair of "unique" new exhibits with an educational theme that exhibited some odd animals in its collection.

well more like several, my wording can be weird sometimes. I meant the zoo probably wanted several exhibits with a unique, new theme that showcased some varied animals in its collection.

From the pictures, it seems they did want landscape immersion but in the end wouldn't pay for the landscape. I've never seen so many microscopic plants in a zoo exhibit.
