Selingan Turtle Island

oh wow that's nice. This is a Barred Rail Gallirallus torquatus. For anyone who isn't familiar with it, it inhabits a broad swathe from the Philippines down through Sulawesi to the far-western end of New Guinea. It is technically still a vagrant to Borneo I think, but was recorded on Pom Pom Island near Semporna in 2010 and then Pulau Selingan where there seem to be a couple of pairs from what I read.

Cool indeed. I had a quick google for the birdlife in general of the island and I found mention of this species from 2014 as well.
